We lived in peace and harmony. Though we were not perfect, our society was coordinated. Peace and prosperity was the most important thing.

Our land was rich, our men were warriors, our women were submissive angels, our kings protected us, our gods looked after us.

Our society had little to no corruption. Each kings and lords feared to disappoint their people and ancestors, they strive to do better, grow economies, conquer new territories.

The god of thunder, god of iron, goddess of the sea and all the other gods gathered together during the annual festival to bless our community.

We were happy. We had rules that guided us, though some rules were ruthless, our community thrived. Both the commoners and the elites feared and obeyed the gods, the rules and the taboos of the land.

We prayed and they gave answers, the gods taught us what was good and bad in the eyes of Eledumare the Supreme God, taught us to do right by ourselves and uphold justice.

We multiplied and thrived until one unfortunate century. Foreigners with their huge ships, and skins as yellow as the morning sun. They call themselves the whites, but I call them the yellow for there is nothing white about their colours

They came first as a traders, bringing unknown objects and weapons to our lands and traded with our traders. Some of our rich heartless lords sold off their ‘human spoils of war’ to the foreigners to be shipped away to their unknown lands.

Little did they know that was the beginning of their calamities. Our men were huge beasts, stronger and more enduring than the foreigners. Our women were gifted with the body of a goddess, indeed beautiful.

The foreigners wanted more and more and more until they tricked the lords into giving up our lands. Systematically, they set up their government in our land until they finally took over.

The foreigners introduced us to a system of government that has failed us. Introduced us to their religions and called our gods who have protected us for centuries false. They claim their god is the one and only, while ours were nothing but devil worshipping.

The foreigners introduced education, not because they wanted us educated, but because it aided the spread of their religion. They introduced health care, not because they care, but because they knew it would aid the conversion into their religion.

Decades after they left our lands, our organised and progressive lands became corrupt. Our system of government has been changed, many elected leaders no longer have the fear and mindset our lords and kings had. The kings and lords who were supreme have been subjected to humiliations from the elected leaders.

Worshippers of our gods who were emissaries of Eledumare and walked among us as men and women have drastically reduced. Those who worshiped them are labeled devil worshippers. Yet, many of the new religions leaders seek powers from our gods in secret.

Religious wars corrupted our lands alongside selfish and ruthless leaders. Our old lands lived in harmony with dozens of gods and religions, but our new land can hardly live in love and harmony with just two religions.

A shame to the foreigners who corrupted our lands.

A bigger shame to us who allowed and continued to allow our lands to be corrupted.
